New tires and new brake pads for my car?

Hi, I have two questions. Would appreciate if someone can help me.

I recently change four tires on my 2006 Toyota Corolla, I bought the car new and drove approximate 43000 miles. Is that how long Corolla tires can only last? Though they last forever, ppl easily drive to 100000 miles, or they menat the engine?

2. Secondly, in addition to new tires, I had change some brake parts things on front and back. They were making sounds when I press on the brake, like metals scratching each other, so naturally I went in for inspection, they told me all front and back is bad and need to be changed.

Just wondering if I was really in making the choice of getting 4 new tires and 4 brake parts after only going through inspection at one location? I spent about 800 dollars.New tires and new brake pads for my car? When you go through inspection they usually only glance at brake pads. You could have easily needed them and they would not have noticed. Since they don't test drive the vehicle at inspection they would not have noticed if the wear bars were scraping. Vehicle dealers usually recommend that you change brake every 45,000 miles. As for the tires, the tires they install at the dealers are not always of the best quality. 43,000 miles is a good wear for a set of tires that are factory installed. Tires and brakes are usually not covered under vehicle warranty.New tires and new brake pads for my car?well tires wont last as long as the engine on the car, tires need changed give or take every 50k miles it depends on what kind of tires, each tire has a mile warrantly type thing on it saying its a 50k mile tire or a 60 or 70, and so on. and the brake pads could easily be bad with those miles on it especially front pads if they were metallic brake pads they only last about 30k miles if you are lucky and the ceramics l;ast about 50-60 it really depends on how hard you are on the brakes to how long they will last.New tires and new brake pads for my car?Corolla does not make tires but if you have ground the brakes to metal in 40000 miles you brake late and hard. This is also hard on tires and steering components.
